Haben Woldu, Business Consultant

Haben's Story

I was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and lived there until I was a junior in high school. In 1999, after the Eritrean-Ethiopian War broke out, I was forced to flee, without my family, as the country became unsafe for families with Eritrean roots. Soon after, I relocated to Portland, Oregon where I finished high school.

Today, I am an accounting professional with over 10 years of experience with a strong background in accounts receivable management, with a command of all its functions. As an accounting professional with lots of skills and management experience, I bring a positive energy and drive to my work!

I am involved in a variety of community activities, as I have a burning desire for social change. In 2013, my cultural education program for adopted Ethiopian children was featured on CNN, which you can see here. I serve as an advisory committee member for Portland Prosper, as well as a mentor in the community.

I am a graduate of the MBA program at Willamette University, the Accounting BA program at Linfield College, and of the General Science BA program at University of Oregon.

I'm excited to be a part of Dream Chase Media because it allows me to combine my passion for business management with my passion for social change. One day, I hope to return to Africa permanently.
